Trapezium Volunteers - Mayday!

2nd to 30th May 2026
Opening Times:
Saturday, Tuesday and Friday
11.00am – 3.00pm
| Bradford's Trapezium Gallery is pleased to present Mayday!, its final exhibition at its base on Kirkgate in Bradford city centre. | |
Ken Woods, Hydropower I | Caro Blount Shah, Moored Skye |
After nearly eight years, Trapezium Gallery on Kirkgate is having to shut its doors due to the redevelopment of Kirkgate Shopping Centre.
Lauren Kelly | Michele Russell |
Our aim was to reach out beyond the art community in Bradford to local people, whilst showing Bradford the artistic talent of its residents. We have hosted over seventy exhibitions by local artists and community groups.
Patrick Whitehead, La Casa Verde - La Palma | Ann Driver |
We prided ourselves on creating a space where people passing by could wander in from the street and experience art in an accessible way. Our audience has continued to grow, with visitors returning every month to see the eclectic mix of artwork that we have shown.
Ian Tothill, On Track | Barry Greenwood, Alter Ego |
None of this, though, would have been possible without our fantastic volunteers who organise, curate and invigilate these exhibitions.
| We therefore feel it only fitting that our final exhibition in Kirkgate should showcase the artwork of some of the volunteers who run the gallery on a day-to-day basis. | |
Cath Muldowney | Hawa Sidat |
There will be a mix of painting, illustration, print-making, textiles, collage and documentary photography on a range of themes.
Pauline Cooke, Antenatal
We hope you will come to see the exhibition and help us celebrate what we have achieved.
